One of the nicest and quietest hotels in Bruges, perfect location and great services. Will return!
Super-nice hotel, located in a beautiful old mansion, in the middle of a beautiful park in the Minnewater district (a few meters away from the lake itself); the room itself was average-sized, but quite nice and well-furnished with everything one would expect for the room price; besides, the room was at the top-most level, in the attic, which allowed a beautiful view from the window of a nearby park. The lighting/cooling systems were accessible via a nice modern touch panels network, explained properly by the hotel staff (who was very helpful and polite), but ultimately learned easily via trial-and-error. There was a restaurant within the property, but we didn't get to use (will detail that lower), neither for breakfast, nor dinner. The hotel was within walking distance to the train station (~10min) and town center (also about 10-15min); the area was super-quiet, even if tourist groups were swarming just 100 meters away.
The bed was a bit too soft, as were the pillows; the blanket wasn't very breathable, so we ended up with a sleep interrupted by episodes of sweating, even if the temperature/humidity inside was just fine. Another slight issue (most likely a misunderstanding): we tried to book a table for the next evening at the hotel's restaurant, but we were told that there was nothing avaible from 8 or 8:30pm, as we desired, but only from 6pm (which we declined); as a consequence, we booked somewhere else (it was our anniversary), only to be surprised by a phone from the hotel around 6pm, asking if we wanted to book a table for that evening - we declined, as we didn't want to cancel the other booking and the conversation ended very politely on both sides (no complaints there). However, it was a bit strange for us that there was nothing available when we asked originally, but then suddenly they had availabilities at multiple hours. We also decided not to have breakfast at the hotel, as we found the prices to be too high, comparing to a very nice breakfast place we found just 5 min away.
